Minibus is a rather elastic term. With us it means one very specific thing: a Mercedes Sprinter with 20 seats, a chauffeur at the wheel and a separate luggage bay at the back. That places it exactly in the gap between the V-Class for seven people and the large coach, which sits at 50 seats.
Up to twenty people the Mercedes Sprinter is the right vehicle. Above that the coach begins, and it is not simply a larger Sprinter but an entirely different category: air conditioning, reclining seats with legroom, an on-board galley, a toilet and a luggage bay that swallows fifty cases without complaint.
Anyone looking for a bus company is in truth rarely looking for a vehicle. They are looking for somebody who calls back, quotes a binding price and is genuinely there on the day of the journey. That sounds like a low bar to clear. Anyone who has gathered three separate quotes knows perfectly well that it is not one.
A transfer runs exactly once from A to B. A shuttle runs the same route again and again, at fixed intervals or on call, for as long as your event happens to last. That is a fundamentally different job, and it is therefore calculated differently: by hours and vehicles rather than by kilometres driven.
